Town of Mathiston is requesting sealed bids for construction of the Sewer Rehabilitation Improvements - Phase I & Phase II project. All bids shall be marked Bids for Town of Mathiston – Sewer Rehabilitation Improvements - Phase I Sewer Rehabilitation and/or Phase II Lagoon Dike Rehabilitation on the outside of the envelope. All bids shall be submitted to the Town of Mathiston until 10:00 AM local time, September 30, 2025, at the offices of Town Hall located at 41 Mathis Drive, Mathiston, MS 39752. or mail to P.O. Box 178, Mathiston, MS 39752. Bids will be opened at Town of Mathiston. Any bid received after 10:00 AM will not be opened. Town of Mathiston reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
The project generally consists of the construction of Sewer Rehabilitation Improvements - Phase I Sewer Rehabilitation and/or Phase II Lagoon Dike Rehabilitation.
The plans and specifications for the project are on file for public inspection in the offices of Town of Mathiston and the offices of Neel-Schaffer, Inc., 7085 Hwy 45 Alternate North, West Point, MS 39773. Bid documents are being made available electronically and via original paper copy (if requested). Plan holders are required to register for an account at www.neel-schafferplans.com to view and order Bid Documents. All plan holders are required to have a valid email address for registration. Electronic bids shall be submitted through www.neel-schafferplans.com. Bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through the website. Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, materials and/or supply needs. The successful bidder must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act which requires that all laborers and mechanics shall be paid at rates not less than those determined by the Department of Labor to be the prevailing for the locality in which the project is located.
This project is being funded in part by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant #MS-203060 and the rules and regulations therein apply. Any contract or contracts awarded under this invitation for bids are expected to be funded in whole or in part by anticipated funds from the ARPA Mississippi Municipality & County Water Infrastructure Grant Program (MCWI). Neither the State of Mississippi nor any of their employees is or will be a party to this invitation for bids or any resulting or related contracts. This procurement will be subject to all applicable sections of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated, as they apply to local governments, in accordance with MCWI Program Regulations.
